Times don't always call for dark, vamp makeup, sometimes a touch of soft and sweet is the best choice. If you are meeting the in laws for the first time, going on a first date or spending the day with your besties, we have found the prettiest pinks and softest shades! Donna Karan's Spring 2010 collection is a good example of minimal makeup, and nobody does it better than Jennifer Hawkins or Molly Sims.

	Just because you are choosing a more natural look doesn't mean you have to go naked (I am talking about your face not your body!). Hello Flawless from Benefit is a neat little cover up that can be used with a sponge for one off spots, and lightly brushed over your face for an all over, sheer finish. You get the best of both worlds, a natural day look without the redness or to take it from day to night, use a sponge all over for extra coverage. 	For soft lips with a hint of pink try Natural Volume from Nivea. With SPF 30+ it offers your lips sun protection and it is quite moisturising. A little bit of shine, this lipgloss is the finishing touch to your soft and sweet look. It does contain Nivea's Collagen Enhancer and Light Reflecting Pigments, and while my lips haven't instantly transformed into Angelina Jolie style I do really like this product as it is a very pretty little gloss. 	ORLY are the closest rival to OPI I have found so far, their nail polishes are long lasting and they have a large selection of shades to choose from. To be pretty from head to toe, just shake your bon bon, with ORLY Nail Laquer in Bon Bon. It's a light pastel shade of purple, I suppose the best way to describe it is lavender. One coat is subtle and gives it a light shine, two coats gives a bit more colour. I would suggest this would be most suitable for olive or darker skintones, if you are very pale and only use one coat it can look like your nails are tinged purple due to the cold. 	A lovely soft eyeshadow to use with your soft and sweet look is Pure Color EyeShadow from Estee Lauder in Pink Ice. I love the simple pink and clear packaging and it comes with applicator and mirror. The colour gives your eyes a touch of icy pink and it gives a small amount of glitter. This is a shade I could imagine using every day, it's just enough to say you made an effort without drowning in makeup. RRP: $40.00 Stockist: 1800 061 326

	Nutrimetics have a Lash and Brow Prime which can be used in two ways, as a clear mascara or as a lash prime before your regular mascara. It separates and defines the lashes so they are ready for the perfect application of mascara. Used as a clear mascara, you won't be getting comments from people for how amazing your eyelashes look because it is very subtle...but you will notice the difference. 	Nothing says pretty like a soft blush, but instead of something stand out in pink, look on the peach side with Benefit's Georgia. It's fresh, it's fun and it's different. Like all blushes you can start light and build it up as required. Lighter tones will only need a very soft sweep, while darker tones can apply a little more. The 80's may be in fashion but when it comes to blush, less is best! Comes in a little peach box with a soft little peach applicator brush...now who is up for for some peach schnapps? 	Face of Australia's Face Base Primer is a good little beauty with an even better price tag. It is oil free and contains Vitamin E and Chamomile. On a lazy Sunday I like wearing this without foundation, it gives your skin a smoother base so everything you add from there looks better. These days, a primer is a must have for longer lasting makeup, and for girls on a budget you should definitely try Face Base from Face of Australia. RRP: $11.95 Stockist: (03) 9338 522

	A purple shade for the eyes is Hyacinth Mineral Matte Shadow from ELES cosmetics. It is a purple shade with a little bit of punch, it can be built up to be quite daring or toned down for a day outing. It works well with the Pure Color EyeShadow from Estee Lauder in Pink Ice, apply the pink all over the lids and finish with ELES Hyacinth on the outer edges. 	If you are more of a lipstick than lipgloss kind of girl, Nutrimetics Colour Intense in Spice Delight is a nice little number. You know the rule, if you go light on the eyes its ok to go a little heavier on the lips, and while this isn't outrageous it does have a bit more colour than some of the other suggestions. 	How can we do a soft and sweet feature without including a product called Super Candy? We can't, and ELES Super Gloss in Super Candy is on the list! It's girly, it's pink and it's got some sparkly shine. This being said, when on your lips you don't look like a giant candy cane, it says “Kiss Me” to the man in your life, and “I'm a nice girl” to his mother! 	A pretty, natural shade of polish which every girl should own is Bubble Bath from OPI. It is a soft shade of pink and can be used for creating French manicures. The best thing about this colour is that even used on its own it gives the look of a professional manicure. Your own white tips peek through giving you a neat, clean finish. 	If you have had a late night and your eyes are telling the world, a new release which will help is The Socalizer trio from Elizabeth Grant. They glide on the under eye area and are used to combat puffiness and dark circles. One of the most common complaints among women is darkness under the eyes, and Elizabeth Grant has decided to do something to help with The Socializer.
